What we have here for sale at JAMS is a product that will become indispensable to the recording guitarist, it goes beyond your typical direct guitar sound and works to get better dynamic response from guitar as opposed to other recording solutions. The DSM & Humboldt Electronics lovechild that is the Simplifier, a zero watt guitar amp that has both XLR and ¼” direct outputs for the cleanest recording takes possible. The Simplifier features a 100% true analog preamp that recreates with obsessive detail the most useful and popular clean channel preamps in the market such as the faithful recreations of a classic AC30 sparkly and tridimensional sound that embodies the true British heritage since the 60's, the classic Fender blackface deluxe sound that’s sweet and dynamic with a balanced response and finally the by far the most used amp on studio recordings, the classic clean-to-crunch sound of a vintage Marshall plexi style amp - that sound that defined rock music. What makes this truly unique for guitar recording purposes is the power amp sim which at this stage is an accurate approximation of the interaction between the power tubes, output transformer and global feedback, which produces a particular frequency response for different tubes and speakers. You can get tone sculpting abilities through a Resonance and Presence knob, but also through novel power tube selection 3 way toggle switch that mimic the different response of classic tube types i.e. the complex mid response with a compressed feel of a EL34, the more open and dynamic response with deeper bass and sparkling highs of a 6L6, and similar to 6L6 but with improved low-end range, perfect for bass or 7+ strings guitars, the KT88. In addition to the power amp simulation, there is also some clever phase shifting to simulate a stereo cabinet set-up that allows you to change from a 1 X 12”, 2 X 10”, or 4 X 12” in either ear along with a moveable mic placement simulation which will create an organic and massive sounding recording tone. This unit is in great condition and is fully functional with seemingly little play time and free velcro (what a steal!).
