JAMS Notes Launch

Hello and welcome to JAMS Notes

As JAMS approaches 9 years of business, we feel it’s time to share our thoughts and experiences with our beloved customers. It’s been on the back burner for years, but we’re finally bringing it to life. Thus introducing the JAMS blog. Let’s start with a little JAMS history.

On December 10th, 2013 we opened our doors at 125 W. Main Street in Jackson MO. Most of our inventory was stuck in transit due to extreme weather, so we had a modest selection of Vox Amps and Korg Keyboards, a few small accessories, and purses🤔…(hey, we thought it would be a great idea to diversify our inventory and have non-musical related inventory; we also had tools.)

It’s true the purses were not a hit, and we had to free up space for a lesson room. But the essence of what we were trying to do is a foundational principle of JAMS: be authentic and try things.

If you follow this blog, you’ll find out more of our past where we tried and succeeded or failed; a lot of great victories and a lot of frustrating failures. You’ll also hear about some great memories  on this 9 year journey. Moving forward to today, we have a great facility located at 127 W. Main Street. (Yes, we moved from 125 W. Main to 127 W. Main in March of 2021. We still get comments about how we remodeled. It’s a different store front people). We currently have over 100 guitars in stock from great brands such as PRS, Gretsch, Jackson, and Yamaha. We offer a great selection of guitar pedals including awesome brands such as Line 6, Strymon, JHS, MXR, and EHX. We teach over 50 students on a weekly basis, service 100’s of guitars every year, and have an award winning DJ service. I am so proud of the brand that JAMS has become.

Our goal since day one has been to provide an environment where musicians feel welcomed, comfortable, and inspired. A place where you can ask any question and get an honest answer without feeling foolish. A place where you can find the latest and greatest gear to inspire your next musical pathway. The journey is long, and while we’ve achieved a lot of goals, there is so much more for us to do realizing this is a marathon and not a sprint.

This blog is our next step. As we share our experiences and thoughts, we also want to grow the music community in this area. We wouldn’t be here without our great customers (I secretly call you Jammies), and so many others who have supported us throughout the years. You’ve stuck with us this long, so let’s keep going.
